Californian Collage

Series of a2 coloured-card-collages, depicting with simple abstraction, various Californian landscapes. (see photographs beneath what's below) The more empty space the better - it prevents the block colour from becoming too saturated and jarring, and the work feels more like a drawing, with control over weight of line, and the areas of intensity and areas of sparsity.  Some of these emerged naturally - as cut-offs from one provided an appropriate mark for the next.

A small selection of the landscapes visited in California, that provided crucial inspiration for all that I do now, and very possibly into forever, including Death Valley, the Half Dome rock in Yosemite National Park, and the serene Lake Tahoe.
